Artist's Description

The photo reference used was from 2019, it looked a bit more raggedy in subsequent visits, then … no more. But now, here it is, frozen in time, captured in oils on canvas.

The foreground rocks took a very long time to paint, taking four layers to bring them to life - or I guess capture their stillness. A labour of love.

Jane’s is an Australian artist living and painting in South East Queensland. Jane’s artistic journey began in her mid-forties, when she stumbled upon a hidden talent during a local art class. “I often refer to that time as ‘When I found out I could paint,’” she says, reflecting on the discovery that transformed her life.
