Artist's Description

The process behind my watercolour on canvas pieces is a unique technique I’ve developed through experimentation and practice. It begins with carefully preparing the canvas to ensure it can effectively receive the delicate nature of watercolour. I then introduce heavy texture to create dimension, applying many layers of watercolour—each one individually 'fixed' before the next is added. This layering process is essential, as it allows me to build depth and vibrancy within the painting, achieving a rich, nuanced colour palette.

To bring the piece to completion, I add oil paint and glazing for enhanced texture and vibrancy. Finally, the painting is varnished to lock in the colours and give the artwork a deeper, more luminous finish. This meticulous process takes time, but the result is a beautifully textured and richly layered piece, full of depth and character.
