Yuliana Kusumastuti

Yuliana Kusumastuti brings a unique perspective to her artistic practice, informed by her background as a journalist. With years of experience as a storyteller and messenger, Yuliana sought greater freedom in her creative expression, turning to art as a way to connect with audiences on a deeper level. Her work invites viewers to engage, interpret, and find their own meanings, embodying her belief that art in public spaces belongs to the people who experience it.

Specializing in abstraction, Yuliana explores the interplay of colors and shapes to convey layered meanings. Her compositions are not just visual creations but also vehicles for messages that encourage discovery and reflection.

Yuliana’s accomplishments include being a finalist in the Moreton Bay Art Award 2022 and receiving grants from the Moreton Bay Council to support her ongoing creative journey. She was also one of six artists selected to design a footpath concept for the council's Art at Large program.

Academically, Yuliana holds an Honours degree from the Faculty of Creative Arts and Digital Design at the University of Canberra, as well as a Master’s degree from the Faculty of Law, Business, and Arts and Design at Charles Darwin University. Her multidisciplinary background enriches her artistic approach, blending storytelling, design, and conceptual depth to create work that resonates with a wide audience.
